The Awards of Excellence are available exclusively to SPASA members. Eligibility for each category is outlined in our Judging Criteria and Terms & Conditions. Gold winners of Regional Awards will be eligible for the National Awards competition.

One high resolution digital primary image (Main Photo) must be supplied with each Entry. The Main Photo should be .JPG format and no less than 300dpi and a minimum of 3MB in size for best quality (maximum size 8MB). Build/Installation categories must not contain any information which identifies the Entrant.

A maximum of five (5) supporting images in .JPG format are admissible with each Entry, to highlight different angles, unusual site conditions or features, etc.  Supporting images must be between 500kb and 1mg in size.

  • Standard entries are $175
  • Entries into Individual/Employee Categories are $125
  • Categories 63-71are $330 to enter

Projects may be submitted into multiple categories; however, every category entry must be accompanied by additional fees.

Payment must be made before the nomination deadline for your entry to be eligible for judging.

Yes, they can! Entries that have won Highly Commended in any category in previous years can be re-entered.

If an entry has won a Gold Award, it cannot be re-entered in that same category, however some exceptions apply. Refer to the Terms & Conditions for more information.

All entries will be assessed by a panel of judges, comprising of representatives from various industry associated third parties. The Awards Judging Facilitator will oversee the judging process and ensure impartiality.

Entries are judged based on criteria set out for each category and will be scored out of 100 with the three highest scores being awarded Gold or Highly Commended. The judges may also award a ‘Merit’ Award if applicable.

In the event of a tie, the judges may confer to determine a result.

Judges will deliberate via teleconference or other means as appropriate to determine the Major Awards.

No information in relation to winners or entrants is made available to the SPASA Board, local committees nor anyone outside of immediate facilitation in advance of the Awards presentation night.

Members must submit an entry/entries via this website, which will be open for submissions until the nomination deadline.

Follow the steps below to submit an entry:

  • If you haven’t already, please register here
  • If you have already registered, log in with your username & password
  • Ensure you have read the Terms & Conditions for the Awards of Excellence Program
  • Click on “Create New Entry”
  • Select which region you wish to enter the award into
  • Select a category
  • Complete your entry for your selected category
  • Select “Save” at the bottom of the page
  • You can edit the entry until you pay for your entries
  • Submit Pay for all entries at once by selecting “Submit Entries” 
  • Paid entries cannot be edited by the entrant, contact us or call 1300 021 482 if you need an entry edited

We strongly recommend that you start to prepare your submissions early, and do not leave it to the last moment to upload your entry.

To be fair to all nominees in the Awards of Excellence we cannot provide advice or suggestions on any entries.
